As described by the ACS website, “National Chemistry Week (NCW) is a public awareness campaign that promotes the value of chemistry in everyday life. ACS members and chemistry enthusiasts celebrate NCW by coordinating events and communicating the importance of chemistry.” This year, NCW is October 17–23, 2021 with the theme, “Fast or Slow…Chemistry Makes It Go!”

The Chemistry Graduate Students Association (CGSA) is planning a day-long event at the end of National Chemistry Week (NCW) to celebrate chemistry and educate elementary-aged students and their families. The event is planned to be held outdoors at Dorothea Dix Park from 10am-2pm with various hands-on activities and chemistry demonstrations, as well as a small fundraiser with a Periodic Table of Cookies.
