Sremaniak, Candidate for ACS President-Elect 2025
Laura Sremaniak, Teaching Professor and Associate Department Head in the Department of Chemistry, is a candidate for President-Elect 2025 of the American Chemical Society (ACS). Her ACS biography and campaign statement can be found in this issue of Chemical and Engineering News.
If elected, her primary emphasis will be building a vibrant and welcoming professional home for all who work or study in the chemical sciences. The voting period for all ACS members remains open until October 18.
Laura has extensive ACS leadership experience. She currently chairs the Committee on Membership Affairs which provides analysis and oversight of all facets of the ACS global membership community which stands at over 220,000 individuals in over 150 countries.
Laura is also a Trustee on the Board of Trustees for Member Insurance and is a Councilor to our local North Carolina section, representing the 1500+ chemists in the RTP area to the national organization.
