The Department of Chemistry Graduate Program organized its 2023 Recruitment Weekend that took place in Talley Student Union, Dabney, Cox, and Fox Halls on the weekend of March 10-12, 2023. We had 23 graduate recruits attend from 12 different states.

The DEI committee members met with the potential recruits on Friday, March 10th allowing them to ask questions about ongoing DEI initiatives, culture, and personal experience. The meeting started with general information sessions, followed by small group discussions.

The weekend also included a Poster Session to showcase the research of our Ph.D. students, faculty, research groups, postdocs, and staff. Over eighty posters were submitted and judged by a group of highly respected industry members and academic scholars. Judges presented awards and recognition of the submittals. The Department of Chemistry is grateful to the Comparative Medicine Institute at NC State, all of our industry sponsors and partners, as well as the generous donors who made this weekend possible.

Additionally, the weekend presented the recruits with an opportunity to meet with faculty members and discuss their research interests.

CGSA members and potential recruits grouped for a photo shoot before Fox Hall.

Finally, we thank the Chemistry Graduate Student Association (CGSA) which volunteered to host the recruits and help with organizing the event.
