About the Speaker:
Laura Boisvert Boyd joined the CARES program as a Coordinator and Case Manager in 2018. In her role, she works with students who may be experiencing a wide variety of concerns, such as; anxiety, depression, mood disorders, academic challenges, financial concerns, interpersonal issues, post-hospitalization care coordination and more. In partnership with students, she creates actions plans to assist students in connecting with people, programs and services, as integral resources for their overall well-being and success at NC State. She also provides outreach to the campus community about recognizing signs that students may be in distress and when to refer to CARES. Laura is an NC State graduate, holding her master’s in Counselor Education/Student Development in Higher Education. She is also a Board Certified Counselor. Laura’s past professional experiences are in university admissions, academic advising, mental health private practice, program development and consulting.
