The Chemistry Graduate Student Association of NC State (CGSA) has the goal of establishing and deepening relationships with: the department of Chemistry, graduate students from additional departments, the local community, and the thriving chemistry community in the state.

Apr 29, 2023. NC State chem grads collaborated with UNC and Duke chem grads to bring ACS career consultants to advice us all on networking. 
Apr 19-24, 2023. CGSA collaborated with Alpha Chi Sigma to put on the “Pie a Professor / TA” event just before finals! 
Apr 16, 2023. CGSA collaborated with GPSA (Graduate Physics Student Association) to put on a Bob Ross tutorial video, allowing reprieve from the stresses of lab work. 
Mar 24, 2023. Chem grads traveled to the Science History Institute to celebrate Women’s History Month, attending a special exhibit on the history of women in chemistry. 
Mar 10-12, 2023. NC State chem grads organized a massive and successful recruitment weekend alongside the Chemistry Department. 
Feb 11, 2023. Chemistry divisional volleyball game. Analytical forfeit 😜, and the Organic team beat Inorganic and Physical by 1 point!! 
Feb 7, 2023. The entire chemistry department gathered in red, green, black, and gold for Black History Month. We hosted other events in the same month to discuss the stories of black chemists. 
Dec 7, 2022. Chem grad students rallied together to provide extra tutoring for undergraduate students before their chemistry finals.

We wish to engage our department by hosting social events and fundraisers and to establish connections with graduate students of various departments by collaborating and volunteering. By partnering with local schools to spark interest in science, we will serve the community with service and education. Moreover, we strive to create professional relationships with the local industry by providing networking events to promote our students and NC State.
April 20, 2022. CGSA wins the Outstanding Student Organization Award under the leadership of Hailey Young and Carolynn Davern. 
Feb 25, 2022. Thanks to everyone that joined us in the celebration of black history month to promote our colleagues! 
Oct 26, 2021. National chemistry week outreach event in Dorthea Dix park! 
Oct 16, 2021. Chem grads visit Page Farm to pick pumpkins for the fall season. 
Aug 5, 2021. The first years joined CGSA for lunch and an info session about their NC State journey to come.
