Riley Stephenson, ’21, to Host Seminar at NC State
We are pleased to share some exciting news about one of our department’s undergraduate alumni, Riley Stephenson, B.S. 2021.
Riley has been awarded the Duke Chemistry Graduate Ambassador Fellowship, given to a select group of chemistry department students who have excelled in teaching, research, and service during their graduate studies.
This award provides funding for recipients to return to their alma mater and give a seminar in their former department.
Riley will visit NC State during the upcoming spring semester for a valuable opportunity to connect with his former mentors. He plans to present some of the scientific research he has been working on and share his experiences in graduate school with current undergraduate students.
Riley is currently collaborating with Professor Michael Therien at Duke University on designing, synthesizing, and characterizing nanoscale carbon superstructures for potential applications in transistors and memory devices.
Riley graduated with honors from NC State University in 2021, earning a B.S. in chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Dave Shultz.
