O’Brien, Recipient of the 2024 College of Sciences Student Leadership Award
Juliana O’Brien, a Ph.D. candidate in the Gorman and Menegatti research groups and the current President of the Chemistry Graduate Student Association (CGSA), will be honored by the College of Sciences (COS) at NC State University at their annual awards dinner on Wednesday, October 30.
Established in 2016, the College of Sciences Student Leadership Award recognizes a graduate student who is considered a leader among their peers and actively pursues leadership roles within the College of Sciences or across NC State. The recipient of this award sets a strong example for other students and motivates peers to positively impact the NC State community.
O’Brien was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She graduated from High Point University in May 2020 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and a minor in mathematics. She joined NC State in the fall of 2020 with an interest in bioorganic materials.
