Hellena (Hongxia) Bai won a poster award titled “The Best Application of Imaging Mass Spectrometry” after she presented her work on 3D Mass spectrometry imaging using IR-MALDESI at the 3rd Imaging Mass Spectrometry Society (IMSS) conference in Colorado Springs, Colorado (October 3 – 6, 2021). The work, in collaboration with Keith Linder and David Muddiman, highlighted the feasibility of IR-MALDESI in 3D mass spectrometry imaging without a need for cryosectioning and showed a global view of skin structure using differential lipids distribution.
