Steve McCall was born in Florence, South Carolina. He received a B.S. in Chemistry in 2000 from Francis Marion University in his hometown. He began his graduate career at NC State under the direction of Professor Daniel Comins and received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 2007. He worked in the private sector from 2006 to 2008 before returning to NC State as a lecturer in General Chemistry in the fall of 2008. After also working as a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Christian Melanders laboratory he began his career at BASF in RTP in 2009 as an Agricultural Scientist. In 2013 he moved to Limburgerhof, Germany with BASF to further expand his professional experiences. In 2016 he transitioned to the Global Marketing department still in Limburgerhof. In 2019, he returned to the BASF RTP site as Business Excellence Manager in the Regional Marketing department of Agricultural Solutions.
