Jackie Hughes Receives 2022-23 University Award for Excellence

Ms. Jackie Hughes, from the Department of Chemistry, has been recently recognized with a 2022-23 NC State Excellence Award.

Jackie joined the Department of Chemistry as an Administrative Support Specialist on July 30, 2007.  Since then, she has become a vital member of the Chemistry Business Office, which primarily handles accounting functions not related to grant funding.  She can be relied on to perform financial transactions timely and accurately; communicate effectively so processes are understood; identify and solve problems proactively; and embody values in her interactions with others which exemplify the College of Sciences Culture Charter.

If you have had the opportunity to meet and/or work with Jacqueline Hughes (“Jackie”), you already know why she is an exceptional person who is always welcoming and positive and is an extraordinary employee who regularly exceeds expectations when serving the needs of others.

The Department of Chemistry is fortunate to have Jackie, who goes above and beyond to provide outstanding customer service.  We are proud of how she represents the Chemistry Department, College of Sciences and NC State University to all of our customers.
