Contact the Chemistry Graduate Office for Dabney 210 or Cox 400 and Premila Jayaratne for P III.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Send the Chemistry Graduate Office your current CV.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your Plan of Work to make sure the it is up-to-date and approved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check to make sure you have completed all three required <a href=\"https:\/\/chemistry.sciences.ncsu.edu\/grad-handbook\/general-information\/865-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">presentations<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/grad.ncsu.edu\/faculty-and-staff\/forms\/graduate-school-forms\/#:~:text=Schedule%20Oral%20Prelim\/Final%20(pdf)\">Request to Schedule Doctoral Oral Examination<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/grad.ncsu.edu\/faculty-and-staff\/forms\/graduate-school-forms\/#:~:text=Schedule%20Oral%20Final%20(pdf)\">Request to Schedule Master&#8217;s Oral Examination<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and turn it into the Grad Office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentservices.ncsu.edu\/your-degree\/graduation\/apply-for-graduation\/\">Apply<\/a> for graduation!\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check graduations <a href=\"https:\/\/studentservices.ncsu.edu\/your-degree\/graduation\/#graddeadlines\">application deadlines.&nbsp;<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two weeks before your exam date, deliver your document to your entire committee (ask if they prefer electronic or bound copies).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Graduate School will electronically send the Report of the Committee to the Chair of your Advisory Comittee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Defend and pass, then your committee will electronically send the report to the Graduate School.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are leaving for a job shortly after your defense, inform the Graduate Office so we end your employment\/funding. <strong>NOTE: If you leave too early in the semester, the DGP may have to request an exception for GSSP, otherwise you&#8217;ll receive a tuition bill and you will not graduate until it is paid. Note that your bill payment must be prearranged with your Advisor or the Director of Graduate Programs. <\/strong>Do not be alarmed if you still receive an email stating that you won&#8217;t graduate until the bill is paid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Having any outstanding bills, for example a charge from the Health Center, or holds on your student account will mean NO DIPLOMA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Before you leave, make sure you do a final chemical clean-out and reassignment in your lab (contact the department&#8217;s Safety Officer or your research group&#8217;s assigned Safety Leader for more information on the process). Not doing these things may delay graduation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Returning Keys, Lab Coats, and Other Checked-Out Equipment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you permanently leave your lab make sure you return all keys, lab coats and other checked-out equipment to the Chemistry Stockroom Manager, open only by appointment,&nbsp;schedule a service appointment <a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.google.com\/calendar\/u\/0\/selfsched?sstoken=UUdTNTFBZGRqQjVTfGRlZmF1bHR8MGY1YmJlMDNmNGEyY2I1Y2NiZmViZGQ0MzMxYzA1Y2U\">here&nbsp;<\/a>or call 919.515.2547.&nbsp;The Department will bill you for any outstanding business and this may consequently cause a hold to be placed on your diploma\u2019s release.
